Pnoy appoints new city prosecutors, execs to NCIP, Duty Free, Northrail

MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III has appointed three new city prosecutors and government officials to the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC), and the North Luzon Railways Corporation (Northrail). 

This was announced by deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte during a press briefing on Friday. 

The following were named as prosecutors under the Department of Justice's National Prosecution Service through the appointment letters signed by Aquino on September 27, 2013. 

Ansharey S. Lalia - prosecutor IV for Cagayan de Oro City;

Aljay O. Go - prosecutor IV for Butuan City

Melvin A. Lamata - prosecutor IV for Kidapawan City

Also appointed on September 27 is Marlea Muñez as NCIP executive director. Her term of office is co-terminus with the appointing authority.

Meanwhile, Maria Paz Alberto, John Patrick Chan, and Joan Denise Tiu were earlier named members of the Board of Directors of DFPC under the Department of Tourism. Their term of office began on July 1, 2013 and will be up to June 30, 2014.

Eduardo V. de Mesa and Serafin U. Salvador Jr. were likewise appointed as members of Northrail Board of Directors and also serving from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.
