'Violent' typhoon approaching Philippines, warns Japan Meteorological Agency

MANILA, Philippines - A typhoon "of violent intensity" is approaching the Philippines, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
In its 5:40 a.m. update on Sunday, the JMA said the typhoon, codenamed "Francisco," had continued to move west-northwest at 15 kilometers per hour.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the typhoon would enter the Philippine area of responsibility late Sunday or early Monday.
