CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines -- A policeman was arrested Monday for allegedly being one of the principal gunmen who murdered a radio broadcaster in Iligan City in August.

Ricardo Diaz, NBI regional director, said two witnesses had positively identified P.J. Capangpangan, assignd to the Iligan police office, as one of two gunmen who gunned down radio blocktimer Fernando "Nanding" Solijon on August 29.

The other gunman, Edward Tucaran, was himself shot dead two days after Solijon’s murder, Diaz said.

Diaz said Capangpangan and Tucaran were known guns-for-hire.

He said Capangpangan has been placed under house arrest as the NBI continues to gather evidence.
