Filipinos were reeling from supertyphoon Friday, and on Saturday were still trying to fathom the extent of its devastation. Amidst the still unfolding tragedy, however, netizens were generating memes invoking the "waterproof Filipino spirit", and, sounding the clarion call to help the millions affected by the typhoon.

As always, they did so with their unflappable sense of humor. Miley Cyrus provided some comic relief, as did "pork barrel queen" Janet Lim-Napoles ... and ABS-CBN reporter Atom Araullo, whose video reportage went viral on Saturday.

But what was most pervasive were calls to begin #ReliefPH efforts for the Visayas region.
