SWEPT AWAY. This combo of before and after images shows the devastation caused by the rampaging, muddy, floodwaters that barrelled down the plains of Cagayan de Oro at the height of tropical storm Sendong.

Ironically, it turned out such danger had been foreseen by some experts but apparently, overlooked, ignored or simply disbelieved by those who could have prevented it from happening.
