MANILA – Close to 500 aspiring lawyers failed to show up during the country’s 116th bar examination, the Supreme Court said Sunday.

Based on a report from the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC), out of the 7,227 candidates, which is higher compared to last year’s 6,831, only 6,354 finished the first of the four Sundays of the bar exam.

“Statistics: 7,227 were admitted to take the bar; after first Sunday, only 6,759 remained; as of third Sunday leading into Sunday’s (November 26) last two exams, there are now only 6,750 examinees,” the SC Public Information Office’s Twitter post read.
