BI reminds foreigners of deadline for 2018 annual report of aliens

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration is reminding all registered foreigners to file their annual report for 2018 at the nearest agency field office before March 1.

Commissioner Jaime Morente said the deadline will not be extended and those who miss it could face fines or prosecution for violating the alien registration law.

The 1951 alien registration act requires all BI-registered aliens — foreigners who have been issued immigrant or non-immigrant visas and are holders of alien certificate of registration identity cards — to report in person to any BI field, satellite or extension office within the first 60 days of each calendar year.

BI alien registration chief Jose Carlitos Licas said foreigners are charged a P300 annual report fee and P10 legal research fee. They must also present their original ACR I-Card and confirmation number the appointment was made through the BI’s 2018 annual report online system.

Registered foreigners currently abroad can file their within 30 days from the date of their return to the country, provided they have valid re-entry permits, Licas said.

For foreigners aged 14 years and below, it shall be the duty of their parent or guardian to make the report on their behalf.
