Senator Kiko Pangilinan has put an end to the rumor that he and Senator Risa Hontiveros held hands following a visit to Senator Leila De Lima at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame on May 1.

A photo of Pangilinan and Hontiveros appearing to hold hands while walking alongside Senators Frank Drilon and Antonio Trillanes IV had been circulating on social media, when Pangilinan on Wednesday retweeted his communication staff, Team Kiko, with a GIF of the moment from which the photo was taken.

The GIF reveals that the photo only made it seem like the two were holding hands because of the angle. In reality, Pangilinan was walking ahead of Hontiveros, with a respectable distance between them.

“Anggulo lang ‘yan, mga beshie (It’s all about the angle, pal),” Team Kiko tweeted.

By adding the hashtag #FakeNews, Pangilinan’s communication team also took a jab at those spreading the malicious rumor.
