BULACAN, Philippines – An ambulance driver and his companion were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sampalok in Doña Remedios Trinidad town Wednesday night while using the vehicle in the sale and transport of illegal drugs.

Senior Inspector Roldan Manulit, town police chief, identified the arrested ambulance driver as Ron Joseph Agustin and his companion as Privado Mangahas, both residents of Barangay Minuyan, Norzagaray, this province.

Prior to their arrest, Manulit said in a report to Bulacan acting police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., that his men arrested a drug pusher who squealed that their source was an ambulance driver.

“The first drug pusher that we arrested is the one selling ‘lugaw’ which he is using as front for selling ‘shabu’. That is why we conducted a buy-bust operation after confirming that this is the source of the illegal drugs,” Manulit said.

He said the Doña Remedios Trinidad Police Drug Enforcement Group seized four plastic sachets containing shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride with an estimated weight of 2.4 grams, the buy bust money and the ambulance with markings of Barangay Minuyan, Norzagaray.

Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspects.

Meanwhile, police arrested two alleged drug pushers during a buy bust operation in Barangay Muzon, San Jose del Monte (SJDM) City Wednesday night.

Supt. Fritz Macariola, SJDM City police chief, identified the arrested suspects as Mario Rocha, 40, and Ronaldo Perez, alias “Toto”, both residents of said barangay.

Macariola said the two suspects were arrested after selling one transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer.

Police are set to file drug pushing charges against the suspects.
