Village chief, cop and soldier among 4 injured in Maguindanao IED blast

COTABATO CITY – Four people – a barangay chairman and a councilman, a soldier and a policeman – were injured after an improvised explosive device detonated as they were responding to an earlier roadside explosion in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in Maguindanao province early Wednesday morning.

The first IED blast was reported in Barangay Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS) at about 7:20 a.m, near the Division Training Unit (DTU) of the 6th ID, according to the town’s PNP Chief of Police, Chief Inspector Achmad Alibonga.

A few minutes after authorities rushed to the scene, another explosion took place, this time injuring: Barangay Semba Chairman Pendatun Sinsuat, Barangagy Kagawad Sinarimbo Lalaog, PO2 Bobby Guialani Pendililang of the DOS PNP and Army Sgt. Eddie Cane of the DTU.

Probers found nails, black powder, wires and a cellphone from the IED blast site. Probers are investigating who are behind the explosions.
