MANILA, Philippines – Independent liquefied petroleum gas retailers will roll back LPG prices P3 per kilogram at 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Representative Arnel Ty of the partylist LPG Marketers' Association (LPGMA) said the slash in prices of cooking gas was prompted by recent drops in international contract prices.

The scheduled rollback comes follows a P1-per-kilo cut implemented by the LPGMA last Saturday.

With the upcoming rollback, each 11-cylinder LPG tank would now cost P541 starting Wednesday, Ty said.

Citing  lower world prices, Petron and Shell on Monday rolled back their prices by P5.50 per kilo, pricing an 11-kg tank at P60.50. Petron also brought down prices on its Xtend auto LPG by P3.40 per liter.
