MANILA – The Department of Transportation and Communications is bidding out this month contracts to rehabilitate seven seaports across the country.
The seven ports and their respective scope of works are the following:
- P28.76-million for the repair of the Corcuera Port in Romblon, including the restoration of rock causeway with stair-landings, fabrication and installation of concrete cell block, mooring bollards and rubber fenders;
- P28.44 million for extension of rock causeway with stair-landings and waiting shed at Placer Port in Surigao del Norte;
- P9.65 million for the construction of back-up area and stair-landings at Boracay Port in Albay;
- P8.67 million for the repair of the rock causeway with stair-landings at the Sto. Domingo Port in Albay;
- P8.8 million construction of back-up area with stair-landings and rock causeway at Pili Port in Albay;
- P5 million repair and extension of rock causeway with stair-landings at Palid Wharf in Zamboanga Sibugay; and
- P5 million construction of rock causeway with stair-landings at Melgar Wharf in Dinagat Island.
DOTC requires interested parties to submit bids for the first four ports by July 23, and for the last three by July 24.
The seven ports are part of the P500-million program to upgrade existing ports that the Philippine Ports Authority announced last February.
