MANILA - Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. and SM Prime Holdings Inc. on Thursday signed a three-year branding partnership, which includes providing telecom services at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Under the agreement, the MOA Arena will allocate branding opportunities aside from extending various services like telephone lines and CCTVs to PLDT.

Mall of Asia Arena Powered by PLDT will be seen in various state-of-the-art digital platforms available at MOA Arena for the next three years.

"This partnership with SM opens opportunities for us to pursue the advocacies close to our heart; our love for sports, our strong support for the Philippine tourism and entertainment," Manuel V. Pangilinan, PLDT chairman said in a statement.

The partnership also includes PLDT murals, three PLDT corporate suites and two showrooms featuring PLDT's various businesses such as SME Nation and HOME at the MOA Arena.

"The three-year synergy of these two corporate giants shall yield to further uplift the talent and skill of our homegrown artists and athletes and, while at it, establish the Philippines as a destination for world-class entertainment and sporting events," Hans Sy, president of SM Prime Holdings said.

The 16,000-seater events venue at the prime Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City is a six-level, world-class facility with a gross floor area of 64,085 square meters.

The structure owned by SM Investments Corp. was built at a cost of about P3.6 billion and sits on a 1.6 hectare property owned by SM Land Inc.

Mall of Asia Arena is operated by SM Arena Complex Corp. and managed by the West Avenue Theaters Corp.

InterAksyon.com is the online news portal of TV5, which is owned by PLDT unit MediaQuest Holdings.
