MANILA - Cebu Air Inc. on Monday said it will mount flights from Iloilo to two international and two domestic destinations by November.

The maiden flights out of Iloilo will make the city Cebu Pacific's fifth hub after Manila, Cebu, Clark and Davao.

In a statement, the operator of Cebu Pacific said it will launch twice a week flights from Iloilo to Hong Kong, and four weekly flights to General Santos starting November 8. It will also add an Iloilo-Manila daily service on the same day.

On November 9, CEB will also launch thrice a week flights from Iloilo to Singapore and the same number of flights to Puerto Princesa. The airline will also launch thrice a week flights from Cagayan de Oro to Bacolod on the same day.

The airline operates direct services from Iloilo to Manila, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao.

“We are proud to launch Iloilo as our fourth hub, since these new routes will greatly contribute to the tourism and trade in Western Visayas. Direct international flights also mean easy access for foreign tourists and overseas Filipino workers, since there will be no more need to pass through Manila or Cebu,” Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution said.

“These new routes are in time for the delivery of three more brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft in the second half of 2012. CEB will continue to stimulate travel to, from and within the Philippines with the most extensive route network and trademark lowest fares,” she added.

To introduce the new routes, the airline holds a seat sale until July 19 or until seats last. This is for travel from November 8 to January 31, 2013.

Passengers can buy P488 all-in seats from Iloilo to General Santos or Puerto Princesa, and from Cagayan de Oro to Bacolod. They may also book P1,488 all-in seats from Iloilo to Hong Kong or Singapore.

Cebu Pacific operates 10 Airbus A319s, 20 A320s and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. Its fleet of 38 aircraft – with an average age of 3.6 years – is the largest in the Philippines.

Between 2012 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 22 more A320s and 30 A321neo aircraft orders. It is slated to begin long-haul services in the third quarter of 2013.
