MANILA – State-run Clark International Airport Corp. expects the feasibility study for a new budget terminal to be completed by next month.
“I would say it would be out by end of September,” said Victor Jose Luciano, CIAC president.
“For now, no one has submitted any proposal. Not even the group of Manuel Pangilinan or Ramon Ang. Those who have expressed interest are waiting for the result of this study,” Luciano said.
The P12-billion budget terminal, which will be located in a 40-hectare government property, is expected to accommodate 10 million passengers a year.
“The budget terminal is envisioned to be constructed by 2015 but we can’t wait for that so we must extend the existing passenger terminal now,” said Luciano.
CIAC earlier secured a P1-billion loan facility from state-owned Land Bank of the Philippines to fund the Clark International Airport’s passenger terminal expansion.
