MANILA – An economic zone and a cooperative that provides electricity to Morong, Bataan were cut off from their power supply after five transmission lines of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines incurred damages due to a landslide.
NGCP said the tripped transmission facilities along the BNPP-Morong 69-kiloVolt line affected the delivery of power to Peninsula Electric Cooperative-Morong and Bataan Technopark Inc.
Restoration work has been hampered by widespread flooding in the area, NGCP said.
"Linemen of the NGCP, however, are ready to continue line inspection and correction once the flood has subsided. NGCP is doing its best to restore the affected pole structures in Bataan at the soonest possible time given the situation,” the privately-owned grid operator said.
Other than its Bataan facilities, NGCP said power transmission and substations remain operational.
