TV5, PLDT form partnership for 2013 election coverage

MANILA - TV5 and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co have partnered to bring viewers a comprehensive and interactive coverage of the 2013 midterm elections.

"We are pleased to work together once again with our kapatid - the PLDT group - for an extensive and exciting coverage of the upcoming elections," said Ray C. Espinosa, TV5 president.

Espinosa said a reliable communications partner is essential not only in gathering news from various parts of the country during the elections but also in engaging the interest and participation of the voting public.

“We will take out-of-the-box approaches in next year’s election coverage to not only deliver to our viewers the news as they happen but also to involve the people in this important democratic exercise,” he said.

More than 18,000 positions are to be filled in the 2013 midterm elections, including 12 senators, 229 district representatives, 80 provincial governors, and 138 city mayors.
