MANILA, Philippines — The Department of National Defense has released an order for the arrest of 125 suspects in the attack on Marawi City.

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre said his department will also issue an immigration lookout bulletin against the suspects named in the DND order.

Arrest Order No. 1, signed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, who has been designated administrator of martial law declared by President Rodrigo Duterte over Mindanao, orders the heads of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police and National Bureau of Investigation to “arrest, take into custody and conduct/continue investigation” on the suspects for “violation of Article 134 (Rebellion) of the Revised Penal Code or any crime related thereto.”

The names in the arrest order include not only members of the Maute and Abu Sayyaf groups but supporters and “couriers” as well.

Aguirre said because the order is issued in connection with martial law, under which Duterte has also suspended the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus, the persons on the list can be arrested without warrants anywhere in the country.

He added that the list likely includes some foreigners.
