Annabelle Rama, Shalani Soledad concede defeat in polls

Shalani posted this concession message on Instagram early Thursday morning.

Among the showbiz candidates that were not fortunate to win in the recently concluded local elections, Annabelle Rama and Shalani Soledad are among the first to concede defeat using their social media accounts.

The outspoken former actress and talent manager took to Twitter a day after the elections and conceded defeat after losing her bid to become the representative of the first district of Cebu.

Trailing her closest rival, veteran politician and former congressman Raul Del Mar, by more than P100,000 votes, Rama tweeted, among others:

“It’s been a 6 month journey. And wala akong pinagsisihan.”

“It is not the end of my political career.”

“To my opponent, congratulations sa iyo. Nakita ko ang kahirapan sa ibat ibang parte ng Cebu North District.”

“Sana sila ang unahin mong tulungan. Yung pork barrel gamitin mo sa tama. Maawa ka naman sa kanila.”

She is still happy that her brother, Mike Rama, won as Mayor of Cebu City. “Matutuloy na niya ang mga projects nasinimula niya na mas magpapaunlad sa Cebu City,” she also posted.

Shalani, on the other hand, took to Instagram early Thursday morning to post a photo of her on the campaign trail with this concession message:

“a congressional district representative for the 2nd district of valenzuela was proclaimed yesterday and it wasnt me. i accept this reality. to the countless men and women who stood by me and fought the fight for change and transparency – my heartfelt thank you! i appreciate all your help. grateful too, for having the opportunity to have served our city as a city councilor for 9years. to all my fellow Valenzuelanos, it has been my pride and honor being your konsehala. muli, ako po ang inyong lingkod – shalani soledad-romulo, nag papasalamat sa inyong lahat.”

Shalani’s husband, Roman Romulo won re-election as representative for the lone district of Pasig City.
