Bb. Pilipinas candidate withdraws due to FHM pictorial

A Binibining Pilipinas 2013 candidate has withdrawn from competition after belatedly learning of the pageant’s strict rule against prior appearance in a men’s magazine.

Model-singer Theresa Fenger, who has appeared in several promotional activities as candidate number 35, is no longer included in the roster of this year’s 50 official candidates on the pageant’s website.

Although pageant organizer Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. has not issued an official statement, Fenger was reportedly disqualified after it came to light that she had appeared in a 2010 pictorial for FHM Philippines as a member of the girl group Eurasia.

Using the screen name Lana Roi, Fenger was photographed in a shiny pink and black lingerie along with four other bandmates.

However, her outfit in the pictorial was far less revealing than the bikinis she and other Binibining Pilipinas candidates normally wear for the pageant’s swimsuit competition.

In 2009, model-TV host Sandra Seifert was disqualified by pageant organizers for a similar “offense”, posing in FHM in swimwear that would not be out place in the pageant’s swimsuit competition.
