Exactly two years after officially announcing their engagement, Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup and Filipino-Chinese model-businessman Lloyd Lee finally tied the knot in simple Christian rites on Sunday at the Church of the Risen Lord in UP Diliman in Quezon City.

Stella Marquez de Araneta, head of the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc., was among the principal sponsors while fellow beauty queens like Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenierich Rehman, Binibining Pilipinas 2011 2nd runner-up Mary Jean Lastimosa and Binibining Pilipinas 2013 1st runner-up Pia Wurtzbach are included in the entourage.

Also in attendance were Miss Universe 2013 3rd runner-up Ariella Arida, Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj and Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2009 Bianca Manalo.

Details of the wedding were earlier announced by the couple in their media interviews leading up to the big day.

As expected, Shamcey wore a champagne-colored wedding gown designed by Cherry Veric and later changed to a Francis Libiran creation during the reception that followed at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel. Lloyd wore a matching champagne-colored suit at the wedding as well.

Prior to the big day, Shamcey had met members of the media for a special bridal get- together sponsored by Facial Care Centre. During that event, Shamcey said she and Lloyd were very much aware how unlucky 2013 had been for many Filipinos, especially the victims of the earthquake and typhoon calamities in the south.

But she said they could no longer wait to have the wedding for another year. So she and Lloyd asked the feng shui master of their parents to pick the most suitable date in December to hold their wedding. December 29 was the perfect date recommended by the feng shui masters to formalize their union.

Obviously very much in love, Shamcey could not hide her excitement in marrying her fiancé in her last three tweets. Last December 24, she posted a photo of her and Lloyd on Instagram with the caption “All I want for Christmas is YOU”.

A day before the wedding, she posted a photo of two teddy bears embracing also on Instagram with the caption, “One step closer”. This was followed by her last tweet that pretty much summed up her wedding eve anxiety.

Shamcey topped the Board Exams for Architecture in 2011 after graduating magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines.

Despite hosting a big reception for guests estimated to number around 1,200 at two ballrooms of the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Shamcey earlier told media that she and Lloyd will have a “delayed out of the country honeymoon” they are planning for Holy Week next year.

The couple’s immediate plan is to visit Lloyd’s family after the New Year.
