A teaser image released by MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) revealed that it will be releasing a CD of Jessica Sanchez’ “American Idol Season 11 Highlights.”
The image, which contains the words “Coming Soon”, is not accompanied by any track listing or any other details.
A little online checking, however, showed that the CD of the sensational “American Idol” runner-up is actually a five-song EP and only one of five “Season 11 Highlights” CDs officially scheduled for release in the US on July 3.
The other four CDs are the “Top 10 Highlights” of all 10 finalists plus season highlights of top 5 finishers, including Skylar Laine, Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips.
The track listing of Jessica Sanchez’s Season 11 Highlights are her covers of “Change Nothing”, “I Will Always Love You”, “Sweet Dreams”, “Stuttering” and her duet with Joshua Ledet, “I Knew You Were Waiting For Me.”
While fans of Jessica would be delighted to know that she will finally have a CD of her best moments on the premier talent reality competition show, those who followed her from Week 1 of Season 11 will likely be left wanting for more.
Her versions of Jennifer Holliday’s “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going,” Luther Vandross’ “Dance With My Father,” Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful” and Billy Joel’s “Everybody Has A Dream” are not included in her season highlights.
No date for the Philippine release of the CD has been announced.
