Concerned fans advise Sharon to ignore blog, stay positive

Hours after Sharon Cuneta posted a series of tweets in reaction to a blind item posted by FashionPulis.com, a barrage of responses were tweeted in return.

The blind item was part of an article called “Shape Up or Pack Up” posted by FashionPulis  very early on Sunday, which Sharon felt was alluding to her daily afternoon talk show, “Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid”.

Said blind item suggests that the show is doing poorly in the ratings and will soon be replaced, which compelled Sharon to immediately issue a detailed denial in 18 continuous tweets.

“My bosses text me all the time and we are very happy with the show,” she tweeted. All new shows struggle in the beginning because televiewers have developed habits that you have to pray you are able to change and it takes time to get used to watching a new show regularly until it, too, becomes a habit of viewers.”

Twitter user Maui Chavez-Alminario (@mauialminario) posted this rejoinder via Twit Longer, “I don’t know what to comment Ms. Sharon but I think since we look up to you as our idol, wag ka na lang paapekto sa knila.”

“Kase the more you say things in here, the more bumababa ang tingin namin sau. Para patulan ang mga isyung yan, hindi ka namin nakilalang ganyan. Kaya much better not to comment anything.

“Public Figure kayo…lagi kayong nasa center ng usapan kahit di naman na dapat pagusapan pa ang buhay niyo. Pinili niyo ang propesyon na yan, dapat alam niyo rin ang kaakibat na result. Opinyon lang po ng isang concern citizen at tagahanga.”

Ria Roxas (@riaroxas) pretty much gave the same advice: “Ate Shawie, don’t mind fashion pulis. Because of your rantings, his page hits went off the roof coz of people’s curiousity.”

To which the actress replied, “Thanks so much. Di ko ‘pinatulan,’ ina-appease ko lang ang tweeties na nagtanong dahil nag-aalala sila. Pls read all my latest tweets & you’ll see. Di na ako pumapatol matagal na. I learned my lesson and also what really matters.”

Jan_mnl (@jan_mnl) observed, “Just discovered a Twitter word war between Fashion Pulis and Sharon Cuneta tho neither is addressing the other directly. Real life drama?”

The observation turned out to be accurate because the megastar and FashionPulis.com, whose owner, Michael Lim, who also has a twitter account (@MciSyLim), both admit that they have not communicated with each other directly since the latter referred to Sharon as “controversial host” in the article, “Shape Up or Pack Up”.

“Kailangan talagang mag mega-react???” Lim tweeted in response to the actress’ tweets. He also posted, “AFFECTED!!!” and “Mega funny itey” in his reply to followers who told him about the tweets.

But as Sharon had earlier tweeted, she had not reacted to previous blind items posted by the site until last night.

When follower jeena priolo (@jeena-0126) tweeted, “Mahal na mahal ka namin mega! Papansin lng yang mga naninira. Bitter sa buhay nila! Stay happy po. luv u:-),” Sharon replied with this long post.

“yes o kita mo eh di ang dami ngayon magbabasa ng sinulat nya, nakatulong pa tayo! Yun yata naman ang pakay nung nagtanong. Sumagot naman ako kasi kala ko concerned sya, pala baligtad. Gusto nila magalit ako! Eh ang gusto ko lang, magtype habang nagchacharge ang kindle ko nang makabasa na ako! Hahaha! Tamo nagexplain lang ako, pumapatol na daw ako! Eh kabait nga ng tweet kong mahaba (dahil feel nga magtype eh!)! Yaan na natin.”

Since she opened her Twitter account early this year, Sharon has been a constant online presence and has, in fact, used the site as a means of communicating with her fans and updating them with her daily activities.

Twitter has also given her an outlet to address personal issues concerning her and her family.

Last March, she angrily defended daughter KC Concepcion from bashers who were apparently fans of ex-boyfriend Piolo Pascual.

She tweeted: “Kung hindi Kapamilya die-hard, maka-Piolo lang. Wala namang galit sa amin na ibang tao.

“Since you won’t stop bashing me and my daughter and it’s all the same to you — maybe it’s time I talk and tell the whole REAL story. Okay? Tutal pareho lang eh. Tahimik kami bash kayo ng bash. Eh di kami naman kaya!”

Last May, she also reacted to a tweet by ABS-CBN executive Eric John Salut to another Twitter user in which he said, “Gusto mo ng baho ng idolo mo? Dami kong alam. Di mo kakayanin”, again in reference to KC.

“If @ericjohnsalut or anyone else says may ‘baho’ si KC they better support it w/ LOTS of proof/evidence/witnesses. Kasi kung gusto namin manira, ang dami naming kilalang involved noon at ngayon,” she said among numerous other tweets on the subject.

And just last June 28, the megastar again waxed emotional as she hinted on a family problem that also seemed to have involved finances. Among her tweets at the time were:

“So much going on in my family.. I mean my Mommy, brother, & me… My tendency though I always come out strong, is really, to hide & avoid what is most painful.. I just want what’s best for my Mama (Elaine Cuneta).. Ang hirap..”

“May mga tao lang talaga na lumalabas ang tunay na ugali pag pera na ang topic. Kaya nakakatawa pag may nagkakamaling akusahan AKO na mukhang pera di ba?”

Sharon usually calms down after getting things off her chest, though. In this latest episode, she assured a follower that the FashionPulis article does not affect her anymore.

“I’m glad I explained well lang for all the tweeties to know the truth,” she said.
