Derek Ramsay explains how his name got dragged into Cristine Reyes-Rayver Cruz break-up
Cristine Reyes and Rayver Cruz’s announcement of their break-up on Sunday came with a little side story that cited Derek Ramsay as a possible third party.
Although Cristine was quick to clear Derek’s name, she admitted that they had been seen together in public.
Derek confirmed this on Monday morning on the set of his TV5 superhero series “Kidlat”.
“Sabi nga ng mga tao nakikita nila kami lumalabas …Yeah… Twice? But comfortable. We’re comfortable to be seen by anyone because we’re friends,” he said.
The Kapatid hunk clarified that he and Cristine have been close friends since they worked together in the 2011 blockbuster film “No Other Woman”.
“We have a very weird relationship because everytime na I call to check up on her, sasagot ‘yan na ‘Ano? Mang eepal ka na naman?’” he said, laughing.
“Pero ganun lang talaga siya magsalita. And that’s how we are with each other and we laugh about it,” he added.
Derek admitted that he and Cristine were first spotted together during one long weekend late last year when they accidentally met in Batangas. He was with his family, she was with her friends.
And then the second time happened during a night-out with friends at The Fort in December — when she and Rayver had already called it quits.
But Derek insisted that he was not the cause of the break-up — not at all. “We’re friends. We developed this friendship over ‘No Other Woman’. Rayver was my friend before ‘No Other Woman,’” he said.
That’s why he just shrugged off the rumor: “I don’t give it much attention and I won’t let it affect my friendship with AA (Cristine’s nickname).”
