“Bwakaw” director Jun Lana announced on Monday the cast of his next film while attending the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“10 back-to-back meetings at the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum,” he posted on Facebook. “Happy to finally announce the cast of my upcoming film ‘Kuwentong Barbero’ (Barber’s Tales) – Eugene Domingo, Iza Calzado, Edgar Allan Guzman, Gardo Versoza, Shamaine Buencamino, Sue Prado and Mr. Eddie Garcia.”

“Kuwentong Barbero” is among 25 pre-approved film projects at the forum, which is reputed to be Asia’s premier project market where selected Asian filmmakers can negotiate co-production deals with internationally prominent film financiers.

Lana is attending the event with his producers, Ferdinand Lapuz, Tonee Acejo, and TV5 executive Perci Intalan.

The three-day forum opened on Monday and will conclude on Wednesday. It is a side event coinciding with the Hong Kong International Film Festival.

Also attending the forum is another Fiipino director, Lawrence Fajardo, who is pitching his next film, “One Thousand”, with his wife and producer, Krisma.

Two of Lana’s cast members for “Kuwentong Barbero”, Domingo and Garcia, are also in Hong Kong to attend another HKIFF side event — the 7th Asian Film Awards presentation ceremony on Monday night.

Domingo, who won the Best Actress People’s Choice Award last year for “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank”, will present one of the awards. Garcia is a nominee for Best Actor for his lead role in “Bwakaw”.

Nora Aunor, nominated for Best Actress for “Thy Womb, will also attend the ceremony.
