Dolphy’s condition continued to improve even as the ailing Comedy King underwent another blood transfusion and dialysis at the intensive care unit of the Makati Medical Center on Monday, his son Ronnie Quizon has posted on his Facebook page.
Here is the complete health bulletin update posted by the younger Quizon as of 5pm, July 9:
“Dolphy underwent another blood transfusion and dialysis today, and his pneumonia is being controlled. The doctors are just finishing the cycle, and waiting for the pneumonia to be completely healed. All other previous updates on his condition continue to improve and show positive results.
“As of the moment, we are boosting his immune system so we can transfer him from the ICU to step up room. Also, visiting remains to be limited and restricted. Visitors will have to ask clearance from family members, as doctors advised to contain the patient from other viruses that might cause further complications.”
Asked by Interaksyon to clarify what a step up room is, Ronnie said it is similar to a private room.
“It will be easier to visit and watch over him in a regular private room than in the ICU. A step up room is the same, except that it would probably be enhanced with the proper equipments and other necessities needed to provide immediate attention for my dad,” he explained.
Ronnie is Dolphy’s eldest child from his relationship with former actress Baby Smith, by whom the comedian also sired actors Eric and Jeffrey.
