MANILA, Philippines — Entertainment personality and the President’s sister Kris Aquino has said that her family needs the vote of Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago in the impeachment case of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
She made the statement during an interview with fellow ABS-CBN talent Vice Ganda.
Aquino picked the senator from the choices that included former First Lady Imelda Marcos and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Santiago is set to leave for The Hague after she was elected judge to the International Criminal Court. Her departure date from the Senate is still unknown, but she is likely to attend and participate in the historic impeachment case.
Santiago, who is a known jurist, may also influence some of her colleagues.
