Dancer-actress Lian Paz says no third party caused her separation with her husband, actor-TV host Paolo Contis, despite rumors of womanizing on his part.
The “Enchanted Garden” cast member revealed to News5 that she and Paolo decided to part ways only last Tuesday, September 11, after a four-year relationship that led to a civil wedding in August 2010 and produced two daughters, Xonia, 2, and Xalene, 1.
She cites their inability to adjust to the challenges of married life as the reason for the split.
“Well, we’re going through a very hard situation. Nag-a-adjust kami parehas,” she said.
“When you have a family and you have bills to pay and marami kang iniisip na iba pa, siguro ‘yung 360-degree turnaround ng buhay talagang mahirap,” she added.
Paolo did not talk to the media before he left for the U.S. on Thursday. He joined boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao and the cast and crew of “Manny Many Prizes” on the trip. The game show will tape an episode in Los Angeles this weekend.
Meanwhile, Lian admits that she wants to keep her family intact, and hopes to discuss a reconciliation with Paolo upon his return.
“It’s very hard. Masakit mabigat sa kalooban, especially when I see my children. Siyempre, meron ka talaga maaalala. Hindi mo siya pwede kalimutan. Hindi naman kami boyfriend girlfriend e,” she said.
