Ritz Azul to star in TV5′s upcoming sexy drama series ‘Misibis Bay’

If Ritz Azul turned a lot of heads with her FHM cover shoot back in November, she is guaranteed to get more eyes popping with her next starring role in TV5′s upcoming sexy drama series “Misibis Bay”.

The show — named after the chic luxury resort in Cagraray Island in Albay where most of the story will be set — will find Ritz walking around in a bikini in almost every episode.

“Bawal daw ang one-piece lang! Kailangan at required na two-piece kaya nakaka-pressure! But I will be confident enough to show them what I have. If I was able to do that for FHM, I will be able to do that again in ‘Misibis Bay’,” says TV5′s drama princess.

Ritz has been getting big projects ever since she stood out as one of the Final 4 contestants in the reality search “Star Factor” in 2010.

The 19-year-old Pampanga-born star played lead roles in TV5’s primetime series “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak” and “Glamorosa”. She recently wrapped up work as one of Derek Ramsay’s leading ladies in “Kidlat”.

In “Misibis Bay”, Ritz will be portraying a complex role that will require her to do heavy dramatic scenes while flaunting her curvaceous figure alongside a young and sexy cast that also includes Megan Young, Daniel Matsunaga, Luke Jickain, Victor Silayan and “Artista Academy” alumni Vin Abrenica and Malak So Shdifat.

The show’s drumbeaters are not calling “Misibis Bay” a sexyserye for nothing.

“Daring as in daring po talaga ako dito kaya hindi ako puwedeng tumaba!” Ritz muses. “Ayokong mapagsabihan ulit na tumaba ako. When I was doing ‘Kidlat’, I gained a little weight but I was able to control it. I worked out, did muay thai and I attended a Zumba class.”

Taping for “Misibis Bay” started early this week, and Ritz has been watching her diet religiously.

“My body kasi, as compared kina Megan and Malak, bilugan ako. Silang dalawa kasi, naturally slim sila. Parang hindi sila tumataba. Ako kasi, I admit, tabain ako. I have this specific diet planned out. I understand that in this business, looks are very important. Kaya I have to take care of myself if I want a long and productive career,” she says.

One thing that Ritz gets fired up about “Misibis Bay” is the chance to work with the drama king Christopher de Leon.

“They already told me about the plot and pinaka-excited ako sa mga scenes with Mr. Christopher de Leon. Sa totoo lang, bata pa lang ako, napapanood ko na ang mga movies niya. I never thought that one day I will be acting with him,” she says.

She’s also a little worried because she will not only get to test her acting chops against the veteran actor, they also will perform sensitive scenes together.

“Nakakakaba lang kasi sinabi nila sa akin that I might have a bed scene with him. Sabi ko nga, ‘Bed scene agad? Puwedeng kissing scene muna?’
“Sinagot naman ako na meron din at maraming kissing scenes! Kaya sobra akong kinakabahan talaga!” she shares.

Nevertheless, Ritz is thrilled with this rare opportunity to learn from a legend in the industry.

“This is my chance to work with an icon. Kaya I have to be prepared kasi ayokong mapahiya,” she concludes.
