MANILA, Philippines – TV5 offers viewers a new afternoon habit starting this Monday, February 27, as it debuts two back-to-back soap operas, one of which is the compelling drama “Isang Dakot na Luha.”
Isang Dakot na Luha is a heartrending story of a mother who, in her struggle to keep her children from being taken from her, faces a horde of unfortunate circumstances.
Kapatid actress Alice Dixson reunites with her Babaeng Hampaslupa co-star Jay Manalo in this afternoon drama series where they portray the roles of Amelia and Mario, an ill-fated couple who get estranged from each other and lose their three children.
Having been raised in an orphanage, with no traces of where she came from, Amelia promises herself that she will be the best mother to her children and will never leave their side. But fate deals her what she dreads most.
Making Amelia’s life a living hell is Veronica (Glydel Mercado), who not only takes Mario away from her but also gets her thrown in a distant land. Veronica also wreaks havoc in the young lives of Amelia and Mario’s three children, separating them from one another and making sure they would grow up hating their mother.
Portraying the role of Amelia and Mario’s three hapless children are TV5 princess Danita Paner as the eldest daughter Angela, whose bitter childhood breeds her deep-seated scorn for her mother; Lianne Valentin as Almira, whom Veronica keeps close to wield as her weapon against Amelia; and Junyka Santarin as the youngest child Abigail who is given up for adoption.
Completing the cast of Isang Dakot na Luha are Edgar Allan Guzman, Karel Marquez, Jenny Miller, Elvis Gutierrez, and Daria Ramirez.
Directed by Eric Quizon, Isang Dakot na Luha is bound to get viewers hooked as they sympathize and relate with a mother’s remarkable struggles against all odds to reunite with the people she loves most.
Isang Dakot na Luha premieres this Monday, February 27, after Felina in TV5’s new afternoon drama block.
