VIDEO: Grace Lee on Pnoy – ‘I don’t think we’re playing around’

The current apple of Pnoy’s eye, the Korean-born but Filipinized TV presenter and DJ Grace Lee opens up about dating Mr. President.

She’s pretty, she’s candid, and seems intent on keeping things uncomplicated. Radio DJ and TV presenter Grace Lee, the girl-of-the-moment for President Noynoy Aquino, sat down recently with veteran and multi-awarded broadcast journalist Luchi Cruz-Valdes for TV5′s Journo, to directly answer questions about her and Pnoy, and if, indeed, she is “the one.”

After President Aquino’s admission in a press conference that he and Lee are seeing each other, Lee’s own media colleagues have been pursuing her to find out more about what she has to say regarding the President and their evolving relationship.

Though Lee says she would rather have the President be the one to talk about the real score between them, the 29-year-old Korean national has been revealing bits of their dating life to media. She has, for example, said in past interviews that she thinks he’s one of the most intelligent men she has met, that she’s been introduced to two of the president’s elder siblings, but not to the youngest presidential sister, Kris Aquino, and even that she’s gotten the chance to cook Pnoy’s favorite Korean dish, bulgogi, for him.

In the exclusive interview with Valdes, Lee says she and the President “try to keep things as normal as possible. We talk about his work, my work. We don’t try to talk about the attention that we’re getting only because it’s kinda weird to talk about it. And because we’re still trying to get to know each other more now.”

Valdes asked Lee how she met the President. “The first time was in Cebu,” Lee said, “The second time was when I got invited by Malacañang during the state visit of the Korean president last year. I was asked to deliver a speech as a Korean living in the Philippines. And the third was when I interviewed the President for our radio show.”

On the exact moment when the President actually started courting her, Lee let out a laugh and said, “He (courts a girl) just like any normal guy.”

Valdes asked Lee about their age difference (the President turns 52 on February 8) and whether there was any concern there. See Lee’s response in the preview of the interview (above). The full interview airs on TV5′s Journo at 10:15 p.m.,  February 7, before Aksyon Journalismo.
