VIDEO: ‘Misibis Bay’ full trailer reveals provocative plot of TV5’s new sexy drama

Love. Deceit. Revenge. Those three words pretty much sum up what “Misibis Bay”, TV5’s new sexy drama mini-series is all about.

And its drumbeaters weren’t kidding when they described the show as fast-paced, intense and provocative.

In the first episode alone that was previewed to the media last Tuesday and very much reflected on the show’s full trailer here, the lead character of Maita Ramirez played by Ritz Azul witnessed the murder of her parents as a child, was subjected to a life of extreme poverty, took her sick lola (Boots Anson-Roa) to the hospital and was forced to accept a job as a lap dancer where she eventually met the man of the family responsible for all her misery.

Directed by Monti Parungao who specializes in scenic productions such as “Boracay Bodies”, “Survivor Philippines” and the indie film “Sagwan”, the series brings to light the controversial issue of a May-December affair in this inspiring story of a girl who lost everything in the past and now has to work hard and persevere in order to fight for her future.

Shot in Bicol’s premier resort, the luxury island playground of Misibis Bay, the mini-series has some of the most acclaimed and some of the most promising young stars on television today in its cast.

As Maita Ramirez, TV5’s virgin bombshell Ritz Azul not only gets to flex her acting chops and literally display her mature side and sexier, bolder physique, she also gets to pit talents with acclaimed veteran co-stars Christopher De Leon, Vivian Velez, Boots Anson-Roa.

Working with Ritz for the very first time, award-winning dramatic actor Christopher de Leon plays the role of Anthony Cadiz, a wealthy real estate tycoon who tries to right all the wrongs of the past by helping and marrying the girl whose family rightfully owned the land they built their resort on.

As Miranda Cadiz, the scheming and manipulative older sister of Anthony who is envious of her brother’s success, Vivian Velez returns to television with a big bang.

There’s also FAMAS and Star Awards lifetime achievement awardee, Ms. Boots Anson-Roa, who will take on the role of Lola Delia, the principled and caring grandmother who raised Maita on her own.

Adding intrigue and complications to Maita’s life are the sons of Anthony from three different women, namely Andrew, Bernard, and Charlie. Played by Daniel Matsunaga, Victor Silayan and Vin Abrenica respectively, all three will vie for the affection of Maita, who unbeknownst to them is out to avenge her parents’ murder and take back what is rightfully hers.

Completing the stellar cast of Misibis Bay are Andrea del Rosario as Miranda’s loyal assistant, Luke Jickain as her young lover, Malak So Shdifat as Didi, Maita’s best friend, Lucky Mercado as Didi’s boyfriend and Megan Young as Lara, the girlfriend of Andrew who disdains Maita.

Set to premiere this July 1 at 8PM, “Misibis Bay” will air for six weeks on TV5.
