VIDEO | Pinay caregiver Rose Fostanes shines in ‘X Factor Israel’ boot camp

The Filipina caregiver in Tel Aviv who wowed the judges on “X Factor Israel” last month did it again!

Rose “Osang” Fostanes, a homely 46-year-old native of Taguig City, continued her Susan Boyle-like journey on the show with another spellbinding performance, this time during the boot camp round.

As in her audition segment, Fontanes’ performance is preceded by a video clip touting her foreigner and underdog status in the competition. She is shown as being unable to mingle with her fellow contestants. Only one young Israeli lady chats her up, and Fostanes candidly confesses to her a lack of confidence in her talent.

Thankfully, all that timidity goes away once she launches into her rendition of Lady Gaga’s “You and I” — a refreshing choice after she auditioned with Shirley Bassey’s “This is My Life”.

The judges appear too stunned to give her a standing ovation like they did when they first heard her sing. This time, it’s her fellow contestants who are brought to their feet in awe and appreciation.
