Fil-Am Tony nominee Eva Noblezada gets ‘Vogue’ nod for her winning look

Fil-Am theater actress Eva Noblezado may have not bagged the Tony Award 2017 for Best Actress in a Musical but her sleek and chic look at the red carpet got her a thumbs up from online fashion authority Vogue.com.

The 21-year-old Eva (pronounced as ‘Ee-va) plays the lead role Kim in Miss Saigon and was nominated along with seasoned and multi-awarded performers like Bette Midler and Patti LuPone for Best Lead Actress in a Musical. The divine Midler, 71, got the Tony on June 11 (Sunday in the US) during the awards show at the Radio Music City Hall in New York City.

Eva was born and raised in the US and has Filipino and Mexican roots.

She was only 17 when a casting director spotted her while she was performing at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (also called the Jimmys). A few months later, the teen thespian landed the role of Kim in the London revival of Miss Saigon. This year, she is essaying the same role in the musical play’s Broadway production.

She may have not gotten what would have been her first Tony, but Eva has been cited by Vogue.com for her winning red-carpet look at the 2017 Tony Awards. Wearing a sexy Jonathan Simkhai dress, Eva was mentioned as having of the “best beauty looks” at the event: “Miss Saigon star Eva Noblezada, who reached for hint of luminous highlighter to show off her Tony-nominated cheekbones.”

But the beautiful Eva also delivered a riveting performance during the awards night as she sang “I’d Give My Life for You.”

Co-star Jon Jon Briones and Lea Salonga, the show’s original Kim introduced the Miss Saigon cast who performed the scene with Eva. The current Broadway production was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical.

With the complement by Vogue.com and with a lot of positive reviews on young Eva’s talent, fans will surely be seeing more of her on stage and at the red carpet.
