They don’t call him ‘The Beast’ for nothing.
A dunk by San Sebastian star forward Calvin Abueva during the warmups of the Stags’ match against Emilio Aguinaldo College damaged one of the rings at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan, leading to the delay in the day’s NCAA Season 88 matches.
“Nag-sample lang ako ng dunk, biglang bumigay. Hindi ko naman sinasadya na ganun ang mangyayari,” said Abueva.
League officials are trying to replace the damaged ring.
Because of the delay, only the duel between the Stags and the Generals will be shown live over AKTV on Monday. The day’s second match between Jose Rizal University and College of Saint Benilde will be aired on Tuesday at 5 p.m. instead.
