The Air 21 Express will give up one of its most prized assets — its first round pick next season — in order to boost its lineup for the upcoming campaign.
Apart from Noy Baclao and Rob Reyes from Petron, KG Canaleta from Ginebra, and Leo Najorda from Barako Bull, who were earlier reported to be joining Air 21, the Express will also take in John Wilson, according to a highly-placed source privy to the discussion.
Details of the deal are still being finalized, said the source who requested anonymity. It is expected to be finalized in time for Sunday’s rookie draft
Earlier, Franz Pumaren confirmed the deal to InterAKTV.
“At least we got our wish to beef up our frontline,” he said.
Apart from next year’s pick, the Express will also give up its second round pick in 2015. The team will also give up Elmer Espiritu, Paolo Hubalde, Ogie Menor, Magi Sison, and Eric Salamat in the deal.
The source didn’t say which teams the picks or the players would end up with.
The deal is shaping up to be a blockbuster four-way deal among Air 21, Petron, Ginebra, and Barako Bull.
Air 21′s new recruits will join Nelbert Omolon, Mark Isip, James Sena, Ren-Ren Ritualo and Wynne Arboleda.
