Early indications are that the Commissioner’s Cup will feature a bumper crop of reinforcements for the PBA.
The season’s second conference, which imposes no height limits for imports, will feature 10 new faces.
Alaska’s Robert Dozier, Air 21′s Michael Dunigan, Meralco’s Eric Dawson have all impressed opposing coaches with their showing in pre-tournament tuneups.
“Alaska import impressed me and seems to be the perfect import for them,” wrote Petron coach Olsen Racela in a text message to InterAKTV.
“He has good post moves and a nice perimeter shot, which they need for their system.”
Dunigan and Dawson caught the eye of Barako Bull team consultant Rajko Toroman, who praised both men’s games.
“They’re two good and athletic guys who are solid inside and can shoot the ball from mid range,” said Toroman.
“But of course, pre-season is different from actual games. These two had good numbers against us and are very athletic, but it’s still preparation period.”
