Bahrain advanced to the second round of the FIBA Asia Championship, but the team suffered a huge blow in its campaign after naturalized CJ Giles suffered what looks like an ACL injury.
Laser therapist Todd Benfit reported the development on his Twitter account.
“Looks like CJ Giles might have an ACL injury so sad for the country of Bahrain and CJ,” wrote Benfit in a message to InterAKTV.
“Feeling bad for CJ Giles and Bahrain right now. I wish I was available to help out. Just stay positive and push forward.”
Giles, a former naturalization prospect for the Philippine team, has been a tower of strength for Bahrain, which booked wins against India and Thailand while falling short in overtime against Kazakhstan. He scored 18 points and 18 rebounds in Bahrain’s win on Saturday against India.
