Football superstar David Beckham’s Philippine visit along with the Los Angeles Galaxy is short and busy, but the Englishman was still able to take time to visit kids at a center supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Friday.
“Hi everyone, I had the incredible privilege of being shown around a UNICEF supported centre in Manila today,” wrote Beckham on his official Facebook account. “Young children who have been left to live or work on the streets are given help and support so they can rebuild their lives again and find a home where they are loved and cared for.”
Beckham has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005 and has been involved with the organization since 1999.
The LA Galaxy, the defending Major League Soccer Champions, is slated to play the Philippine national men’s football team, the Azkals, on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
