The suspense as to who will coach B-MEG Llamados for the coming 37th PBA season has finally ended.
The Llamados are tapping a first-time pro league head coach in Richard del Rosario, a highly-placed source privy to the discussions told InterAKTV on Tuesday.
According to the source, Del Rosario will assume the head coaching post with current head coach Jorge Gallent sliding down as his assistant.
Del Rosario, also the coach of the College of St. Benilde in the NCAA, served as deputy to Gallent last season. He was also a former assistant coach of Caloy Garcia in Rain or Shine.
But the former PBA player’s appointment came as a big surprise after days of speculation that Jong Uichico will take over the post.
Uichico, an eight-time PBA champion, was earlier named co-coach of the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings alongside Siot Tanquingcen.
