A few hours after opening sales of tickets for the FIBA Asia Championship in August, seats for the top regional basketball event have been selling briskly
A customer service representative from the SM Mall of Asia ticket office told InterAKTV that tickets went on sale on Thursday at 10 a.m.
“There were those who have already availed tickets a few minutes since we opened up. Medyo marami na rin yung nabili agad,” she said in a telephone interview.
“At the same time, nationwide kasi yung selling namin, so we expect more sales.”
Tickets to the August 1, 2, and 3 evening games featuring Gilas are sold at P1,500 for Patron A, P1,200 for Patron B, P800 for Lower Box A, P500 for Lower Box B, P175 for Upper Box, and P100 for General Admission.
Morning game tickets for August 2 and 3, featuring other teams, are also available, with Patron seats at P300, Lower Box A at P150, and Lower Box B at P100.
Butch Antonio, the manager of the Philippine national men’s basketball team, is hoping for a good turnout for the games, especially those featuring the home squad.
He credited the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas for working to make sure seats to the games of SMART-Gilas Pilipinas are sold at a reasonable price.
“The SBP thru executive director Sonny Barrios made it a point to make the tickets affordable to everyone,” said Antonio in a telephone interview.
