While the rest of the sporting is tuned to the London Olympics, 2009 Formula One world champion Jenson Button landed in Cebu to take part in the Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines competition, which happens on Sunday.
Button, who currently drives for McLaren-Mercedes, arrived Tuesday afternoon, and quickly took to Twitter to share observations about his new surroundings:
Button uses triathlon competitions to prepare for his Formula One campaigns.
“Physically I am very fit, which in turn helps you mentally knowing you will be 100 per cent on every lap,” Button told The Daily Mail last year. “It’s something I do particularly work on, but then as a driver you work in every area – nutrition, fitness, mental attitude, engineering, and obviously driving the car.”
