The 89th season of the country’s oldest collegiate sports league opened on Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, with host College of Saint Benilde putting on a colorful program to showcase the NCAA’s unity.
Season 89 carries the theme “Our Stars Will Shine in 89,” and aptly began with a light show.
Coro San Benildo opened with a convocation and the national anthem.
College of Saint Benilde president Bro. Dennis Magbanua gave the opening remarks.
The opening program touched on the unity of the 10 NCAA participating schools.
Pep squads from the different schools each performed a routine.
