Over 170 football teams from all over the country will gather in the first Manila Football Cup on Saturday and Sunday at the Alabang Country Club.

The two-day tournament, organized by Kaya Football Club Academy and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, will feature over 1,000 players of all ages from various schools, clubs, and private groups.

“The Manila Football Cup provides a venue for teams that are unable to participate in the semi-professional leagues in the country such as the United Football League,” said Kaya FC Academy managing director Armand del Rosario. “This tournament is also a venue for many corporations to see first hand how far the sport has come in the last several years.”

Aside from the tournament, players from Kaya FC will also conduct a football clinic to selected children.

The event will also observe the Peace One Day, a global campaign for peace awareness celebrated every September 21.

The first Manila Football Cup is made possible by Delimondo, Qatar Airways, Sunlife, Mizuno, Globaltronics and Hyundai.
