Kris congratulates James on B-MEG win on Cory’s death anniversary

On Wednesday, James Yap dedicated B-MEG’s victory in Game Five to the memory of late former President Corazon Aquino. Yap, who scored 30 points in the game, was married to Mrs. Aquino’s daughter, television host and actress Kris Aquino.
On Twitter, fans of Kris sent her the link to InterAKTV’s story on the game, and she tweeted her congratulations for her ex-husband.

“This one’s for Mom Cory,” said Yap. “She’s so special to me. She was my No. 1 fan.”
Mrs. Aquino was a basketball fanatic who tuned in to each of Yap’s games when she was still alive.
Yap and the younger Aquino were married in 2005 before breaking up in 2010. Their marriage was officially annulled last February.
