‘Little Azkals’ struggle at end of AFC U-14 football festival campaign
The Philippine national Under-14 football team had a lackluster ending to their campaign, failing to score any wins in their last matches in the Asian Football Confederation Under-14 Festival of Football 2012 Southeast Asia Region Sunday at the Stadium Likas in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
The Little Azkals yielded a 2-1 loss to Thailand, while they settled for a 1-1 draw against Myanmar in their format 2 assignments in the event.
The Philippines, after enjoying an impressive opening day by beating Cambodia and Australia on Wednesday in their format 1 matches, also suffered a 2-0 loss against Vietnam on Saturday.
The festival is divided into two formats, with format 1 matches lasting for 30 minutes without intervals, and format 2 matches played out for 60 minutes with a halftime break.
The event, however, won’t declare any champions, as the AFC formed it to develop young football players and coaches in Southeast Asia.
