Injured Barangay Ginebra San Miguel superstar Mark Caguioa’s status is “day-to-day,” according to his coach Alfrancis Chua.
Caguioa suffered an injury to the medial collateral ligament on his knee in Ginebra’s victory last Friday against the Meralco Bolts. But tests revealed that the injury is not as serious as originally feared.
“Tinamaan pero ‘di namamaga,” said Chua. “So that’s a very good sign.”
Caguoia is averaging 22.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists this conference.
But without their main man, the Gin Kings supporting cast stepped up big in their victory Sunday night against Barako Bull.
Chua hopes that the 10-day break for Ginebra before its next match would provide Caguioa enough time to heal.
“I hope na maka-recover siya agad,” said Chua.
