Mark Muñoz to attend PXC 29 in Manila

Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Muñoz will be attending PXC 29, the first action-packed mixed martial arts event of 2012.

PXC 29 will be held on February 18 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. Live MMA action will begin at 7 p.m. AKTV on IBC 13 will air all of the action via satellite at 9 p.m.

Mark will corner Raja Shippen, who will be battling Hawaii-based Filipino fighter Harris Sarmiento in the co-main event of the night. Raja and Mark train under the Reign Training Center in Orange County, California. Shippen is a dangerous fighter who has extensively trained Muay Thai in Thailand recently.

Mark, considered one of the best middleweight MMA fighters in the world, was set to fight last month but was forced to pull out at the last minute due to an injury.

Harris Sarmiento will be fighting in the country for the third time since PXC 24. He won his lightweight title here against Ronnie Borja in PXC 26.

The main event of the night will feature Davaoeño Ale Cali going against Jesse Taintano of Guam for the PXC flyweight title. Ale has been impressive in his showing in his past two PXC fights, which includes a decisive win over Philip Parcon in 2010. This will be Ale’s biggest fight so far which will test his mettle in the MMA ring.

Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC), a mixed martial arts organization based in Guam, made its debut in the Philippines last year holding three high octane events. With its TV partnership with AKTV on IBC13, it has become one of the country’s top MMA show.

PXC 29 is presented by broadcast partner AKTV and San Mig Strong Ice.

Tickets are available at SM Tickets starting for as low as Php 350. All tickets come with one bottle of San Mig Strong Ice.
