LAS VEGAS – Floyd Mayweather Jr preserved his unbeaten professional record with a controversial fourth round knockout of fellow American Victor Ortiz on Saturday to claim the WBC welterweight title.
Mayweather ended the scheduled 12-round bout with a left-right combination, the first blow appearing to take his opponent by surprise after Ortiz had been penalised for head-butting moments earlier.
