Fil-Danish MMA fighter Laursen talks smack about ‘TUF’ contestants
In the lead-up to his One FC bout against Eduard Folayang in September, Filipino-Danish fighter Ole Laursen granted an interview to SB Nation MMA blog BloodyElbow.com where he candidly talks about several things including past bouts against guys like Caol Uno, and his relationship with Folayang and his Team Lakay Wushu camp.
But the highlight of the interview has to be his words on the contestants of the UFC reality show ‘The Ultimate Fighter”:
“Then Muay Thai took over for me, and I devoted myself to Muay Thai for years,” Laursen continued, “I left MMA behind but always wanted to achieve something in that sport. Especially after watching the TUF show where the guys are slightly pathetic looking. I always thought I could kick those guys ass even without training and I’m hoping that one day will prove it.”
A big win over fellow Filipino Folayang, especially if it ends in an impressive finish, could take Laursen a step closer to an opportunity to back those words up. Several ‘TUF’ veterans are on the UFC roster and a win over a fellow prospect like Folayang could put Laursen on the promotion’s radar.
I bet a few of those ‘pathetic-looking’ guys would love to take that fight should Laursen be able to make the jump to the UFC.
